Sìth Café: Glasgow

Opening on Monday 11th August 2008, Sìth will be open for business selling gorgeous gifts and little treats!

As soon as we can, the cafe will be open as well - it's taking a little bit longer than expected...

With an excellent menu, welcoming atmosphere and community vibe, the café will be somewhere to sit quietly, read, knit, surf the web or meet up with friends. Evenings will feature language classes, open mic nights, knitting lessons, good food and lots of laughter.

Sìth is at 459 Dumbarton Road, less than two minutes from Partick Underground, and will be open from 10am - 6pm 7 days a week, whilst we are a shop, and 10am - 10pm when we become a cafe!

What's with the funny words?

Ah... Okay, so one of the Directors is a native Scottish Gaelic speaker. "Sìth" means "peace" in Gaelic. We want the café to be a restful, peaceful, safe space.

So there you go, the funny words are Gaelic. Feel free to ask for help with pronounciation!
